UBC is one Canada’s Top Universities. Since 1915 UBC has represent the top west coast.

The University is Consistently ranked in the top 40 Universities on the world ranking scale. UBC has a main campus in Vancouver as well as a pilot campus in Okanagan. There are currently just over 61000 students at the university (53 thousand at the main Vancouver campus with 8 thousand attending the Okanagan campus). UBC has a strong attraction for international students. The main campus in Vancouver is built with 23% of students are considered international students. To give you a better understanding of both campuses the bellow video gives you a better visual understanding. Being surrounded by a diverse student body increases the potential for new experiences. This is one of UBC strengths, the diversity they offer on campus is a very valuable trait for the university.

Since UBC is one of Canada’s top Ranked universities it makes sense they have a strong portfolio of programs and courses to offer their students. The university has over 200 programs (link) with eight main faculties. The below graph is a breakdown of the eight faculties and the grade acceptance averages.

UBC has some of Canada’s top ranked programs in the majority of their faculties, such as engineering, commerce, medicine, science, statistics, law and many more. So no matter the program you are interested in, UBC has a highly ranked option for you to consider. The application process for UBC is completely run through their online platform. The application processes require a personal profile along side a transcript. The application is due December 1st to qualify for entry scholarships, the final date applications will be accepted is January 15th.

UBC offers a very useful tool in calculating the total financial costs of attending the university, we suggest you take a look and test this tool out (UBC Cost Calculator) . For example, if you are a student (Canadian Citizen) who is travelling from outside B.C. taking a Commerce degree planning on staying in a double room at residence the calculator estimates the total will be around 21,000 dollars for your first year at UBC.

In conclusion from the research we have conducted it is clear that UBC is an amazing option and well worth the consideration from all high school students. Aside from the top ranked programs the university offer, the great level of diversity the campus life provides, there is the added bonus of being located in Vancouver city. British Columbia is known to be one of the most beautiful and interesting provinces within Canada. Vancouver of course is the hub of all the entertainment and exciting opportunities. The nice thing about is the diverse opportunities that Vancouver offers, whether you like the big city environment or spending time exploring nature Vancouver has it all.
